Tottenham vs Tranmere: Tottenham Hotspur face Tranmere in the third round of the FA Cup tonight, as they look to retain their spots in all four competitions they started the season in. Spurs currently sit third in the Premier League behind Liverpool and Man City, with the North London side just six points off the top.
Tottenham Hotspur will travel to Prenton Park to take on Tranmere Rovers in the FA Cup. Mauricio Pochettino should be desperate to do well in the competition after failing to win a major trophy at Spurs so far. It is expected that the Argentine manager will make a lot of changes to his side for this clash against their League Two opponents.
Pochettino’s men have also booked ties against Chelsea in the semi finals of the Carabao Cup later this month. Finally, home and away legs against German league leaders Borussia Dortmund are set for February/March in the Champions League round of 16.
Tottenham fans will be desperate for a trophy this season, as the club have gone without for over a decade now. Pochettino has also never won a piece of silverware as a coach, and although he will want his first to be the Prem or Champions League, he wouldn’t pass up the chance to lift a cup.
We are predicting a simple 3-0 win for Tottenham tonight. Goals from Llorente, Lucas, and Son. The FA Cup is back, and Tottenham are still in it. Spurs are literally just across the River Mersey from Liverpool today, at the home of their League 2 opponents Tranmere Rovers for the FA Cup Third Round.
I’d like to tell you something about Tranmere Rovers. I cannot. I know they are mid-table in League 2, and they’re coming off of consecutive league draws against Macclesfield and Yeovil. I can tell you that they promoted last season after winning the Vanarama National League Play-Offs last spring.
I also can tell you they have a player by the name of Steve McNulty, a 35 year old center back who is their club captain, and looks like your dad. He weighs in at just under 200 lbs. and is an absolute unit. He might break Son Heung-Min. This is the first meeting between Tranmere and Tottenham in any competition since the 2001-02 season.
