the Denver Nuggets on Wednesday, and will get a precautionary MRI on his right sprained ankle, according to Mike Trudell of Lakers.

The Lakers’ season seemed to have hit its nadir on Monday night when they lost to the Clippers, which was their seventh defeat in their last 10 games. Has the written demise of the Lakers presented bettors with an opportunity to cash on LeBron as an underdog tonight when L.A. hosts the Nuggets at 10:30 p.m. ET.

Through 60 games for the Lakers this season, Kuzma is the team’s second-leading scorer and is averaging career-highs in points per game (18.8), field goal percentage (46.5 percent), free-throw percentage (76.1 percent) and assists per game (2.5).

In the month of February, Kuzma averaged 20.7 points per game on 50 percent shooting from the field. He was one of three Lakers to average at least 20 points per game in February along with LeBron James and Brandon Ingram.

Ingram, who sat out of Monday’s game against the Clippers, has been listed as questionable for Wednesday’s game against the Nuggets due to soreness in his right shoulder. Lance Stephenson (toe sprain) and Tyson Chandler (neck stiffness) have also been listed as questionable. Stephenson has missed the last three games for the Lakers.

Due to the number of banged up bodies on the roster, only eight players did on-court work for the Lakers during practice on Tuesday:

Denver Nuggets (42-21) vs Los Angeles Lakers (30-34), Staples Center

The Los Angeles Lakers will host the Denver Nuggets tonight at the Staples Center in Los Angeles, California.

The Lakers are coming off another defeat against the LA Clippers, whereas the Nuggets faced a close loss at the hands of the San Antonio Spurs.

Let us see how things stand for both teams ahead of the clash tonight.

The Nuggets are sitting just below the Warriors, at second place in the West, with a record of 42-21.

They faced the San Antonio Spurs in their last game and lost to them by one point. Jamal Murray led the team with 25 points and eight assists on the night, and along with him, Nikola Jokic scored 22 points and grabbed 10 rebounds.

Also, Isaiah Thomas scored seven points coming off the bench in the 16 minutes that he played. Four players were in double figures, but the team still fell short by one point.

The would want to ensure that they are more clinical at the crunch moments going forward, so that the individual contributions of their players don’t go in vain.

The Los Angeles Lakers’ perspective

The playoff spot is seemingly getting farther and farther away from the Los Angeles Lakers. They face a lot of competition ahead with clashes against teams like Celtics and Raptors.

They faced LA Clippers in their last game where LeBron James scored 27 points, dished six assists and grabbed eight rebounds. Also, Rajon Rondo notched a triple-double with 24 points, 12 assists and 10 rebounds.

None of that was enough though, and the Lakers would look to get back to winning ways soon.

LSU vs Florida Live

In the aftermath of the LSU basketball team’s overtime loss to Florida two weeks ago, Will Wade gave the Tigers an extra dose of reality.

As if an 82-77 homecourt setback to an unranked team wasn’t enough to swallow that night, Wade delivered this bit of sobering news: Florida is the type of team that will end LSU’s dream season in the NCAA tournament.

It was a warning he hopes hits home, especially when LSU plays its first game as a top-10 team in more than 12 years, in the rematch with Florida at 6 p.m. Wednesday in Exactech Arena.

No. 10 LSU (24-5, 14-2 Southeastern Conference) can take another step toward its first regular-season league title since 2009 by turning the tables on Florida (17-12, 9-7) and clinching no worse than the second seed for the SEC tournament.

“There’s a lot to play for Wednesday,” Wade said. “What I’m more interested in is, Can we be a lot better against a team like this that’s given us problems? It’s kind of been a tough team to play.”

As if there was a need for extra motivation, his team can become the first in program history to go 9-0 on the road in conference play.

In Wade’s eyes, that’s all that counts for now because it’s against one of those teams that pose problems from the opening tip.

“Gritty, grimy, tough, defensive-minded teams that are very physical,” he said of the kind of team that gives LSU fits. “Like I’ve said, this is a tough team for us to play.

“It’s a tough matchup. … We’re going to need to show we’ve improved in the past two weeks, and we’ve gotten better and can handle what they throw at us a lot better than we did the first time around.”

Florida also defeated LSU 73-64 a year ago in Wade’s first season with the Tigers, giving him a close-up look at what has slowed his team in its tracks.

The first problem is that Florida allows a league-low 63.1 points per game; the Gators also rank fourth in field-goal defense at 42.1 percent.

In the first meeting, LSU scored 64 points in regulation and shot just 42.9 percent from the field.

“They throw us off rhythm. … You’re not as in rhythm all night,” Wade said. “You can’t just dial stuff up all the time like when you’re in rhythm. You’re always out of rhythm.

“You’ve got to be able to play out of rhythm, and it takes a different type of team to be able to do that. Hopefully, we can make that adjustment and play that way.”

Ah, January. The weather certainly wasn’t warmer in Milwaukee or South Orange back then as Marquette and Seton Hall went into their first head-to-head matchup, but the optimism around both programs certainly was. But nearly two months later, the Golden Eagles and Pirates have combined to lose five straight contests, setting up this crucial Wednesday night matchup in Newark.

Marquette vs Seton Hall live Stream

The bloom has not completely fallen off the rose for no. 16 Marquette (23-6, 12-4), even though its last two losses were varying degrees of disastrous and put a serious dent in the Golden Eagles’ Big East title bid. This has been an otherwise incredibly successful season for MU, and could still finish as such, so long as Marquette wins its final two games to capture at least a share of the Big East regular season crown, and then acquits itself well in the conference tournament at Madison Square Garden next week.

MORE FROM BIG EAST

Turnovers have been the Golden Eagles’ one bugaboo all season long, and boy, has that issue flared up recently, as MU threw the ball away a combined 40 times in its two losses at Villanova and home against Creighton. The ‘Cats and ‘Jays aren’t even particularly good at forcing turnovers, yet by frequently doubling Markus Howard as soon as he crossed half court, they pushed MU into two of the seven worst turnover ratesposted by any Big East team during conference play this year. MU now ranks 71st among all 87 high-major teams in offensive turnover rate.

Howard has been the leading culprit with the giveaways (13 combined over the last two games), but that is somewhat understandable given the immense burden he is often forced to carry as the lone ball handler on the floor. Marquette particularly needs two of its key secondary playmakers – Joey Hauser (9 TOs) and Sacar Anim (6 TOs) – to be stronger with the ball in traffic.

Marquette has actually shot the ball well in these two recent defeats, but the sheer volume of turnovers (40 giveaways to 44 made baskets) have completely cut the legs out from any other offensive successes. Unfortunately for the Golden Eagles, Seton Hall is one of the better teams in the Big East at forcing turnovers, doing so 20 times in its first matchup with MU.

The Pirates aren’t out of the woods though, even if they take advantage of MU’s turnover woes. Seton Hall (16-12, 7-9) is right on the NCAA tournament cut line, and has not topped one point per possession on offense during its three-game spiral. SHU is just 15-67 (22.3 percent) from beyond the arc during this stretch, though Myles Powell is still finding a way to stuff the box score (26 points per game).

Second-leading scorer Myles Cale has been particularly quiet of late, shooting just 3-13 from the field against St. John’s and Georgetown. And even while it continues to hand free possessions to its opponents, Marquette has still played stingy defense during this losing streak, and had a chance to win both games down the stretch (the Golden Eagles were up five with 5:17 left at Villanova and up four with 5:30 left vs. Creighton).

The Pirates have struggled to consistently pair a running mate with Powell this season. If Marquette can limit Powell to a relatively inefficient shooting night – MU held him to 21 points on 19 shots – then the Golden Eagles have a decent shot to pull out a road victory and remain in the Big East title race.

Of course, while Marquette is now fighting through its most adverse situation of the year – which, all things considered, is not too strenuous – Seton Hall is already quite familiar with the thrilling highs and agonizing lows of a long season.

After falling to 1-2 in November, the Pirates rattled off 10 wins in their next 11 games. Then after losing six of eight in January and early February, Seton Hall won three games in a row. Even now after yet another prolonged losing streak, it would not be surprising to see Kevin Willard’s fickle squad pull together and find home wins over both Marquette and Villanova to close out the 2018-19 regular season. Meanwhile, the Golden Eagles still have to prove they can respond with their backs against the wall. Such is life in the wacky and wild Big East.

Five of the last six Marquette-Seton Hall matchups have been decided by six points or less, and with the sloppiness that both squads have displayed over the past week, there’s a good chance this one comes down to the wire as well. Things may get sticky on the offensive end at times, but the result is all that matters at this point in the season, especially for two teams desperate for a win.

PSG: For Thomas Tuchel’s team, just one goal may be enough. If PSG can score one goal, it will force Man United to need three. That would in turn force the Red Devils to go forward in numbers, and few teams can punish you on the counter as much as this PSG side. Just a goal will likely be enough to make the quarterfinals and keep their main goal of winning Europe alive.

Man. United: There’s hope for United. The team has been in quality form in attack as of late, and they are certainly going to need goals. Remember, this team went to Juventus and won in the group stage, so there is no reason why they can’t do it again here. Romelu Lukaku hasn’t been the first-choice striker but four goals in his last two league games may warrant some serious minutes in this one.

Paris Saint-Germain are on the verge of reaching the quarter-finals of the Champions League for the first time in three attempts, as they hold a 2-0 lead over Man United heading into Wednesday’s second leg.
And Man United travel to the Parc des Princes on Wednesday night knowing their hopes of reaching the Champions League quarter-finals hanging by a thread.

Man United have plenty of top players missing out.

Alexis Sanchez was the latest to join the injury table over the weekend.

Phil Jones is out with illness. Anthony Martial, Jesse Lingard, Juan Mata, Ander Herrera, Nemanja Matic, Antonio Valencia and Matteo Darmian are all injured.

United manager Solskjaer said, “Goals always change games. We’ve got to get the first goal and then anything can happen. If we get the first one we would start believing more and then they might start doubting themselves.”

Buffalo vs Western Michigan

Buffalo vs Western Michigan: The Western Michigan Broncos will have a tough test going on the road against the cream of the MAC on Friday, the Buffalo Bulls. The Bulls are ranked in the top 25 and are widely expected to be one of the best non-power conference teams in all of college basketball.

Buffalo, winners of six straight games are undefeated in conference play (5-0) for the first time this late in the season. UB was 5-0 in 1997-98, which was its final year in the Mid-Continent Conference, but a Buffalo team has never been 6-0 in conference play. This is a meeting of the two teams picked to win their respective divisions in the MAC preseason poll.

Western Michigan leads the all-time series 13-11 and has had the upper hand in games played in Kalamazoo. The Broncos have won the last three meetings at University Arena and Buffalo has not won at WMU since the 2010-11 season when the Bulls won twice there, including in the second round of the CollegeInsider.com Tournament. University Arena is the only arena in the MAC that Nate Oats does not have a victory in.

The Bulls have scored at least 80 points in every game during their current six-game winning streak, the first time that UB has scored 80 in six straight games since the 1970-71 season. Should the Bulls score 80 again on Friday evening, it will be the first time in school history, dating back to 1915-16, that Buffalo has done it in seven straight games.

The Broncos are led by Thomas Wilder, who many picked as the conference’s preseason player of the year. Wilder is averaging 17.6 points per game and leads WMU with 80 assists. Josh Davis is averaging 10.7 points and a team-high 7.6 rebounds per game. Bryce Moore chips in 10.1 points as five Western Michigan players average at least 9.0 points per game.

Lakers vs Knicks

Lakers vs Knicks: The Los Angeles Lakers take on the New York Knicks on Friday at Staples Center and second-year small forward Kyle Kuzma is questionable to play. Kyle Kuzma suffered a back injury Wednesday night against the Oklahoma City Thunder and was forced to leave the game. An MRI confirmed that Kuzma has a contusion in his back.

In 38 games this year for Los Angeles, Kyle Kuzma is averaging 18.3 points, 5.8 rebounds and 2.4 assists per game. The 23-year-old is shooting 47.2 percent from the field, 30.2 percent from beyond the arc and 78.0 percent from the free-throw line.

Kuzma is second on the Lakers in points per game, trailing only LeBron James, who is also out due to the groin injury he suffered on Christmas Day against the Golden State Warriors.

LA is just 1-3 since LeBron went down with a groin strain. Losing Kyle Kuzma for any period of time would be devastating to the team. If Kuzma can’t play versus New York, Brandon Ingram, Lonzo Ball, and Josh Hart have to step up their games collectively to lead the team.

The Knicks are just 9-29 on the year. Even without LeBron, Kuzma and Rajon Rondo, the Lakers should still beat New York at home on Friday. As expected, LeBron James remains out with a strained left groin for the Lakers home matchup on Friday night against the New York Knicks.

While there was plenty of excitement surrounding the Los Angeles Lakers once they signed LeBron James, the front office and head coach Luke Walton tempered heightened expectations by highlighting the remade roster would need time to develop chemistry.

The Lakers have been snakebitten in that process, with suspensions and injuries intervening since the second game of the season. Brandon Ingram and Rajon Rondo were suspended four and three games, respectively, for their role in a fight with Chris Paul and the Houston Rockets.
